Important question time
sonofabee: Is there such a thing as an asexual cockblock? If not, there needs to be. I suppose the equivalent would be when you have a delicious piece of cake just waiting for you at home, and then you get back, all excited about your cake only to find that SOMEONE ELSE HAS EATEN YOUR CAKE.  And then you have been cake-blocked and you are sad.

In fact, I don’t really care what we do as long as we have that name and can be like superheroes.” YES YES YES YES YES. :D This was such an epic comment I had to go make a post about it. WE ALL NEED COSTUMES. AND POWERS....

got asexual?
aceupyoursleeve: Image Source: SFU Student Society “Got Queer?” campaign This is from an eye-catching series of awareness posters used around the campus of Simon Fraser University by Out On Campus. The campaign acknowledges that the diversity of identities is innumerable, which I find beautiful and refreshing. Also those eyebrows: yes please. Super accepting? Super awesome. ok, we need to...

acentric: So, the heterosexuals are on the swingset, swinging back and forth like most people do. And then there are the homosexuals swinging, like, side to side or something. The bisexuals are sort of alternating between the two, and the pansexuals are just twisting their swing up in a… hahaha yes. I suppose it makes more sense if it’s a tire swing, so it goes in more...

Asexuality Was My Sex Ed →
writingfromfactorx: “I could, quite frankly, list examples of asexual erasure in this class and other classes I’ve taken that focused on gender and sexuality for quite a while longer. Frankly, from my perspective, sex education outside of asexual spaces is both largely irrelevant to me and has often made it clear to me that my experiences are, from the perspective of the persons constructing...

codeman38 asked: Thank you *so much* for transcribing the Savage-Jay interview! I really wanted to find out what everyone was talking about on the asexuality tag regarding the interview, but I have a ridiculously hard time understanding voices transmitted over the phone. (Seriously, why can't more people do their interviews via Skype?)

TRANSCRIPT: David Jay interviewed on Savage Love...
long post is looooooooong. Herein is contained the entire transcript of DJ’s interview with Dan Savage in it’s entirety, as transcribed by me. Therefore, it is probably replete with errors.  Caller: Hey Dan, I am a twenty-five year old woman, and here’s the thing. I have never been in a dating/sexual relationship with anyone, male or female, and, well, the thing is it’s...

ace-reporter: lizziegoneastray: mylittlehazmat: ace-reporter: When I see Savage mentioning Asexuality I normally wince. If I were to say I had respect for the way he presents his opionion, I would be telling a lie. However, AVEN founder David Jay appeared in a recent podcast to discuss… I’m working on a summary of the interview that will appear on Asexual News shortly.  In the...

acewatch: Including: Dan speaks with David Jay, founder of Asexaulity.org about what asexuality is and means to be a part of the asexual community. The part about asexuality seems to start at about 16 min in, after the adam and eve commercial. (Haven’t listened yet, but I will soon)

How old were you when you realized you were asexual? What made you realize it? 4. Do you identify as a part of the queer community? What communities do you identify with? 5. Tell the story of the first person you came out to....

odannygirl7: violentopposites: I also read somewhere that asexuality has been observed in animals, that in some species there is always about 1% of the population that never engages in or shows interest in sexual activity. Can someone find this study?  It might be from the book “Biological Exuberance” by Bruce Bagemihl? I’ve only read bits, so I don’t know how far into detail the book...

Physiological and Subjective Sexual Arousal in...
So I finally get back from my blissful but mosquito-ridden week of internet-free camping to find another big flame war going on in the asexuality tag. I guess it started with amazingatheist’s demand for the scientific study of asexuals and arousal? Well, guess what guys. It’s already been done. And get this - instead of proving that we don’t exist, it actually serves to validate...
